Beginner Oil Painting Lessons (In-Studio)

The class is designed to introduce the basics of oil painting featuring still life and painting from photos and real life.  The emphasis will be on concept and composition, values, light and color theory.  Supplies and materials, preparation of canvas and maintaining the care of brushes will also be discussed.

Linda’s Plein Air Painting Classes - Summer 2020

Linda's New Plein Air Painting Classes are an opportunity for all level painters to get outside and create a painting that depicts the beauty of Colorado. 

Classes will include: 

  • a 20 minute hike/walk on location, to find a spot to paint

  • a 10 minute talk and demonstration about a concept that has to do with plein Air painting

  • Oil painting concepts will focus on light and color, which includes:

    • arranging the elements

    • colorful shadows

    • fill in the lights

    • add variety

    • prospective 

Please pack a lunch/snack, water, and the sunscreen and sun protection you might need. Please also bring hand sanitizer, wipes, and paper towels for keeping your hands and painting equipment clean. Also, make sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes for being in the outdoors.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All classes are subject to change if the weather doesn't allow us to be outside. The cost for 1 class is $35.00 or 4 classes for $120.00.

Painting with Social Distancing

Due to the nature of what is happening in our world with COVID-19, I know many of us are worried about being around other people. The objective of this class is to get outside and enjoy painting with a safe distance from each other. Please keep in mind we will be respecting the suggestions from CDC to keep a 6 foot distance between one another, keep your hands clean, avoid touching your face, and stay home if you are feeling ill. If you are sick, you will be fully refunded the cost of the class.
